It was suggested they might be good as Scribe or QM.
How about the (obvious) answer: Patrol Leader!
If he did a good job as PL and they are not elected to SPL, why couldn't he
serve another term as PL if his patrol wants them there? If his patrol
wants him as their leader, I would have little objection to him serving a
second (or third...) term.
Remember the _troop_ chooses its SPL, and the _patrol_ their PL; _not_ the
leaders. We can only "encourage".
