Years ago that may have worked. Today you probally would not be allowed to
have such an activity. I know for a fact that in our school system, where
most of the schools have their own cafeteria and subsidized lunch program ,
it is against policy to have food of any type for sale that would take money
that kids would normally spend own lunch.Even if you were offering lunch
items. Goverment at its best.
One of our best fun raisers is at Christmas time when we sell Christmas
wreaths.Usually we set it up so that 50% of the profit would go into the boys
individual accout(to pay for scout camp, trips, supplies) and the other half
into would go into the troop account.
Another one that we do, that is extremely successful is selling candy bars in
the spring time.(now for this one all of the money goes into the boys
account, since the majority use it to pay for summer camp.
