I don't think you sound negative, actually your argument makes a lot of
sense. If I felt I had no need to change, I would probably say the same
thing. My Post, however, wrote one of those nasty complaint letters when
Supply Division dropped the green shirts from the catalogs.
Actually, I am going to recommend to my Explorers that they see this as an
opportunity to do a few things. First, I would expect a fundraiser of some
sort to provide replacement uniforms for the entire Post. It's not often that
an entire Unit needs to replace all of their uniforms at once. Next, I would
like to see them follow an example I intend to start - donating the tan
shirts to a Troop in a needy area of the Council. Even better as a service
project would be starting a Uniform Exchange within the Council for all Units
who may need it.
Several members already have green shirts, and all of the adult leaders do.
The fact that they don't like the tan shirts helps, and the fact that the
adult leaders are no longer calling/driving all over the state looking for
leftover greens will be appreciated by all.
