>Here in Hudson Liberty Council, BSA, we open our summer camp -- Camp Williams
>at Rock Hill Scout Reservation -- to Girl Scout units for one week of the
>summer. We've been doing this for about 6 or 7 years now. Up until this year,
>it was used only by a group of units from a particular sponsor. We have had
>everyone from Brownies to Seniors. This year we also attracted a GS unit from
>outside our Council area who have promised to come back next year with even
I forgot to mention in my earlier post. Our council also owns 2 camps that
do not have regular resident programs but are open to troup camping. Our
service unit hosts a troup camp one weekend each year at one of them. Plus
last year one of the service units arranged a Dad/Daughter camp.
Also as someone else mentioned, at resident camp, the girls do not work on
a particular badge but a list of the badge requirements that they have met
is sent home with each girl. Beth finished all of the requirements for the
Horse Lovers badge except 2 that she will be finishing up at home.
