SCOUTS-L NOAC MEETING!!!

Fri, 29 Jul 1994 00:13:17 CST
(this note is being crossposted on Scouts-L, Arrow-L and Rec.Scouting)
The folks from Scouts-L, "The Electronic Roundtable that NEVER ends"
would like to invite you, your family, and fellow Scouters to attend
the second in our series of "face-to-face" Roundtable meetings held
during major BSA events. Our first meeting was during the National
Scout Jamboree in the USA last summer and before we departed, more
than 40 Scouts and Scouters were in attendance!! This one will be held
before the start of the National Order of the Arrow Conference, to be
held in Lafayette, Indiana on the Purdue University campus.
The Scouts-L meeting will be held continuously, starting at 1pm CT
on SUNDAY, JULY 31st, at the HOLIDAY INN LAFAYETTE, located off of
Interstate 65 at Highway 43. We will meet in the Resturant initally
and depending on the number of attendees, will move to some other
location inside the Holiday Inn. This is also the site of the
Pre-NOAC Scouting TradeShow and Fair (Tradeoree), which will be over
on Saturday (officially...there will STILL be folks around on Sunday!).
The Opening show starts on Sunday evening and the INTERNET LODGE
meeting is after the opening show on Sunday evening.
(personal note here: We HAVE to be on the road after the INTERNET
LODGE meeting, since both of us have to be at work Monday afternoon,
so we're not going to be around for a long time.)
Jessica and I would also like to extend a invite to those from other
forums, whether or not they are connected to the INTERNET (and please
feel free to forward this note to those forums) as well as the other
Internet forum, Rec.Scouting. We would love to meet you in person, to
see the people that we've been conversing with and to re-aquaint
ourselves with those friends that we've met over the past year from
the Jamboree event.
Like before, this event will be quite informal and it's "pay as you
go" as far as food and drink is concerned (we can't afford to pick up
the drinks this time...as Jessi says, "we can't afford the pot to pee
in, but we *need* a vacation from worry!") *heehehhee*
If you are planning on coming and stopping by, please do so. If you
can't make it this time, plan on being around for the NEXT major BSA
event and Scouts-L meeting. Of course, we wouldn't DREAM of leaving
those of you that cannot do either out, and we WILL place a summary of
the meeting here (as we did last year), so that you can "participate"
As this is a family event, we invite you to bring your family and
those that don't have electronic access to this list...we would LOVE
to meet them too, and to tell them about the family and friends here
Sorry for such short notice, gang, but we had to make sure that we
could go and also since nobody on the NOAC staff could provide Dr.
Steve or myself a calendar of events, I had to make an "executive
decision". I hope that Sunday, July 31st from 1 to 5 or so pm works
well for everyone, and we'll see you at the Holiday Inn Lafayette.
Settummanque!@HEY! CU there!! Finally...another ROAD TRIP!
(Hey Pab...Jessi says "Is Pab coming? Pab...wear your kilt!"
