Tennessee Valley Council (North Alabama) historically offered a Wood
Badge course during the fall of every odd-numbered year (I think they
started this in 1977 or so). When they didn't get enough participants to
conduct one in 1991, it was cancelled and now we are on an even-year
rotation. Our next course, SR-57 starts August 26, and is the three
weekend variety. To my knowledge, we've never offered the week-long
course in this council.
By the way, if Wes can stand one more Wood Badge response and
testimonial, yes, $100 is cheap. The cost for participants in our upcoming
Wood Badge is $145, and I so strongly believe in it that I am paying the
cost for one of my Assistant Scoutmasters out of my own pocket.
