Hi Kathie just wanted to correct a point you made:
> Woodbadge is ADVANCED training, and not everyone SHOULD go.
The training philosophy of the BSA and other countries might state this,
however, in other Scouting organizations such as Scouts Canada, we encourage
everyone to take Woodbadge Training. Everyone SHOULD GO!
In fact, parts of Canada, such as Ontario have enacted "Essential Training
Policies" that state that within 1 year of joining as a leader, you will take
the Part I woodbadge for the section you are in. Our Region, for some reason
has adapted this to state 18 months, however, it is a requirement that
within the first three months we take the "Gateway to Scouting" Course which
covers the basics of Scouting.
Thought I would throw some International perspective into this discussion.
