Comfy Tan Shirts (NOT!)

I can empathise with you on the tan shirts being uncomfortable. I bought a
long-sleeve polyester shirt when I lived in PA, and the darn thing made me
feel like a poodle in a microwave in the summer and a resident of a Glad Bag
in the winter! Furthermore, I quickly found out where the manufacturer took
material shortcuts to save on unit costs - the XL I bought was tighter than
my old O.D. large. It bound under the arms, and was tight in the waist!
I found the most comfortable Scout leader shirts are the 100% cotton ones.
They have plenty of room where it counts, they breathe, and they are made of
heavier material - more structurally sound. The maker did it right! Two
downsides: the button holes are terrible, and cotton wrinkles like mad -
have to iron it out after washing, or send to the cleaners like I do and let
them fret over it. Choice is the reader's, depending on priorities and
I still prefer the uniform I grew up with, but I do wear the current uniform
when I attend uniform inspections and regular Troop meetings, just for the
sake of setting the example.
