John Macko asked "what booklets or handbooks have been updated so
we can look at the updates?"
I don't have a personal list, but I do know that last month's "pouch
package" that each local Council's Scout Executive received has a listing
from the BSA's Supply Division and the Editorial Division of what is
going to be released next month in time for the Program kickoffs. Among them
is a updated version of the Scoutmasters' Handbook, the Commissioner's
Fieldbook and several Exploring publications (many of which will be
consoldated into an Exploring Support package for local Councils). There's
also a new version of the Fieldbook to be released as well.
Many of the items are five and ten page "booklets" that give guidance to
specific areas of the program...for instance, the new Advancement Guidelines
booklet, the new Exploring Sales and Service Team booklets, and the new
Quality Unit Planbook for District and Council usage. All of those booklets
reflect policy changes that happened this past year and which were announced
during the National Meeting (and at All Hands Meetings prior to the meeting).
Hope that helps you out...your Council Scout Executive (or whomever is
responsible in your Council for updating materials, usually him or her) should
have a copy of the information in the form of a Supply Division bulletin.
