I am just back from summer camp and wading thru my digests, so sorry to prolong
some of these threads...
One of my favorite passages from the Lewis & Clark journals reported on
their crossing the continental divide guided by Sacajawea's brother's tribe.
One of the leaders (I think it was Clark, but I don't remember exactly)
looked around and noticed one of the three women from the tribe was missing.
Upon inquiring, he was told, "Oh, she just stopped to have her baby. She'll
catch up." And she did, with her new baby.
We guys don't have a lot of standing in saying what a pregnant woman is able
or not able to do. Basically, it's between her and her health care provider.
