Since BP died in 1941, Copyright on all of his works expired in 1991.
This doesn't apply to books he was just a co-author of, annotated
collections and compilations of his works, and translations.
E.g. Scouting for Boys as published by him is OK to distribute, any
edition revised by someone else isn't, and translations into other
languages aren't freely distributable unless the translator was dead
50 years ago, too.
Ok, I know you aren't interested in his works translated, but I am :-)
Anyway, I think any effort to disseminate his works more widely would
be just in keeping with his intentions. Also, I would contact Project
Gutenberg and have them distribute AtS and SfB (provided you are able
and willing to scan it, of course) to give them a wider exposure. I
would distribute any such effort to an Italian Scouting-related File
