Wow! What a "trival trivia" question, Brother Randy!
Here's what I can think off of the top of my head...I'm really
stressed for time today, so I can't go into a long discussion on each
(what!! Mike Walton being BRIEF?? Impossible! *hehehehe*)
Merit Badges that take a day to earn:
Fishing American Cultures
Home Repairs Leatherwork
Wood Carving Traffic Safety
These all depend on the setting (for instance, most if not all of the
Reading MB can take place at the public library; the report for the
Scholarship MB can be done at the school's library or Principal's
office; and Home Repairs need to be done (for it's best effect) at a
older home or in a home that needs lots of different repairs to it.
Same with Painting.
But, having the proper setting for the badge, and a willing counselor
to work with the Scout on completing it all in a day (and more
importantly, a Scout willing to complete the badge in a day!), the
above MBs CAN be completed in one eight-hour "day".
There are others, that, with the proper preparation on the part of the
Scout, can be also accomphished in a day. I am assuming that there
was no prep period before the MB could be presented.
(Add fingerprinting to that list above, Randy!)
