Next month I'll be meeting the Professor of Paediatrics from our local
medical school, and I'll ask him to suggest the sort of things that we
could include in our camp medical chests.
Yes, there are distinct national differences, e.g. some of the antibiotic
" first aid " sprays available in US are POM ( presciption only medicine)
here in UK. Equally there have been occasions in the US military units
where somebody has bought cough medication over the pharmacy counter in the
local town, quite legally, which contain enough codeine to register on a
drug screening a few days later ... very embarrassing.
I guess that any " advice " needs to be checked out with a local expert.
We were fortunate in having until recently a doctor as one of the Scout
parents, and she was always willing to offer advice when required.
