Just to introduce myself as a new subscriber to SCOUTS-L. My name is Lisa
Blackburn and I live in New Zealand. I am currently the Secretary of my
Rover Crew which is situated in Wellington. My Rover Crew has 16 full
members and is called Regal Rover Scout Crew. Our crew colours
are yellow and purple. There are 12 Rover Crews in Wellington and
we spend quite alot of time doing things together. Rovers in New Zealand
are the service section of the Scout movement and we spend alot of our
time doing Service to the Community, Servce to Scouting, Fun and
(especially at the moment) recruitment. I personnally work for the
Meteorological Service of New Zealand Limited, which is how I can in
contact with Scouts-L.
I am very happy to receive any mail but more specifically from Rovers or
Rover age scouts (in NZ that is 18-31 years of age). We are putting
together a newsletter which will have 5 issues per year and we would
welcome any input from overseas Rovers on recruitment, service projects,
or any tidbit that you might like to send me.
A reminder to all Rovers or Rover aged people who are planning
to be in NZ at Easter 1995, we will be holding our National Rover
Moot in Wellington. For more information just send me a message with
your address and as details come out I will get them to you.
