WOSM is the World HQ in Geneva (yes it IS a real deal!). WAGGS is the same
sort of thing for the Guides.
Go gently with Mike, eh? He's been with American Scouting for so long that
there is a wee chance that he will overlook some of us from time to time.
This may be partly due to the BSA.s presence in the overseas military
communities where he has lived. Believe me - he's nowhere near the same type
of character as our "friend" Michael J. Daniel!
By giving 25% of proceeds from selling these things, Mike will enable people
who like to collect things to have something different, while helping to
support Scouting in under-developed nations. Pretty worthwhile, methinks!
Gee, good 'ole MJD has really rubbed us the wrong way when we begin casting
dark looks at the likes of Mike Walton. I've been a little hypersensitive
toward him in the past few days, as well...
Ah, well - let's us just be good Scouts and try to keep informing the BSA
that we have viable alternatives all over the world. A lot of them think they
have the best Scouting programmes in the world simply because they have never
been outside their own borders. Unknowing ignorance is forgiveable - less so
the willful ignorance that MJD wears so proudly...
