At our recent Eagle recognition dinner, and also at round table,
there was some discussion about recent eagle projects, to build
wheel chair ramps being REJECTED! Apparently there is a NEW
policy in place to prohibit EAGLE projects that involve construction
in public areas. It seems there have been recent LIABILTY problems
with injuries sustained on contructions completed as Eagle projects.
Projects such as wheel chair ramps and public play grounds were
mentioned as 2 such prohibited projects. We were told that more
details would be out "shortly". If you are planning any construction
related eagle projects, I would think that you or your advancement
chair should double check directly with national.
National has been known to return Eagle packets for problems with
projects! Even if they were completly approved at the council level!
Maybe Mike Walton can tell us the Name and number of the correct
national person to confirm these changes in accepted eagle projects?
