Mike, I agree. I also agree that majority rules. If 30 girls (out of 31)
want to sing a song (or whatever) that is not against the rules of the local
culture, I allow it. If the 31st girl tells me that is against her
beliefs, or offends her, or whatever, I will try to encourage an alternate
plan that the others like equally well. HOWEVER: I have attended Scout
functions where songs were song (skits, etc.) that I found personally
offensive, although in keeping with the area. I simply wrote it off as
personal taste and did not participate. EVERY Scout has that right. I
would NEVER push participation in something a Scout found uncomfortable.
