Let me weigh in from the VM world of e-mail. The VM mailer that we use
allows mail to be kept in notebooks. Everything comes in to the virtual
reader then is transfered to the UNREAD NOTEBOOK. While I can save all
the e-mail I want to in different notebooks, it is still all in one great
file in the UNREAD notebook. Luckily I can issue commands within e-mail
(since it is in Xedit). The commands I use are SET CASE MIXED IGNORE
or case m i, and then I use the ALL/text searching command to show me
only the mail files that have the text I searched for, e.g. if I issue
ALL/NOAC all files that have a subject with NOAC in them are put
together on my screen. What I have been doing recently is using this to
first highlight and delete the files I know I won't or can't get to.
Your milage may vary.
