You are correct that the training must be at least 10 hours (or one CEU) for
it to count for a leaf. For example, a five hour course could not be added
with another 5 hour course to qualify for one. I am a trainer. You can,
however, obtain leaves for classes in relevant fields from other sources.
The Red Cross First Aid doesn't count only because it isn't a 10 hour course-
you can't combine it with the CPR training which is a separate class. If
you took Red Cross Water Safety Instructor (for example, or a college class
that would help you do a better job in providing the Scouting program) it
would count. Does this make sense?
