Bob and others Scouters
My Troop and I just returned from the Maine Jambo 94. It was fantastic!!!!!!
While there I spoke to a representative from the Maine High Adventure Base
and obtained the following info. It is still a BSA run High Adventure Base
it just not recognized as a National High Adventure Base anymore (low
enrollment). The 1995 Trek season opens June 17 - August 25. They would
love to hear from any Troops unable to get into other High Adventure Bases.
Fees $39.00 per day per person. For each group of 10 scouts, 1 Adult
Leader is free. Age minimum is 13. Crew size is 5 minimum is 11max. Length
of trek varies from 6 - 10 days.

Request a "SHARP" flyer it has an overview of costs and requirments. They
also have a" Reach for the Sky - High Adventure" flyer with program
Our Troop will be looking at either Maine High Adventure program or the NY
Adirondak program for 95. We are going to Philmont as a Troop, in August. I
was told that next year Philmont will only be taking Council contingents.
I hope this is helpful....
