O.K. Since some have asked for it on here, this
is some of the stuff we have done to earn money.
I'll start with the best things.
Every summer we run concession stands at 3 parks
for little league baseball games.
One of the parks we use for funds to opperate the
troop, the boys who work in that park recieve ten
dollars per night to pay for summer camp, or any
long term camp.
The other two parks are used by boys going to
jamborees, we divide the number of days of games
by the number of boys and each works that many.
Last year with 14 boys they each made $450.
(that only comes out to about 8 nights work
Our expenses on these are minimal, we rent a
big popcorn popper for $40 a month, the pop
company furnishes us with machines, and we set
up on a picnic table.
We run a concession stand for the county fair
each fall (10 days I think) that brings in about
We get to run food at many of the concerts that
come to town, some on our own, and some through
the promoters (most acts hire local people to
do the work) Most of those get the boys $50 to
$100 and they get to see the shows for free.
Also, if you talk to auction houses, people
setting up craft shows, or antique shows quite
often they will let you set up for little if
We also do our share of soup suppers, watermellon
feeds, and car washes, but concession stand pay
much better with little more effort.
hope this helps
