It seems quite ridiculous to punish our children because the adult
policiticians can't control spending waste.
However -- why not seek out the service clubs in your area --- we do quite
well with free facilities provided by American Legion; VFW; Kiwanis (in fact
many chapters here sponsor units and STILL provide facilities for others); the M
oose Lodge provides a meeting facility for our OA chapter. Our roundtables
are held in a local facility run and managed by a park district. The park
district provides free, the facility for two packs to meet, as well. However-
-- and I know this may sound like real heresy -- den meetings were meant to
be in the leader's home -- move them back to where they belong, that should
solve the problem of the weekly meetings for dens.
We had to move out of and away from schools years ago when the PTAs got upset, b
ut it has worked in our favor.
Hope this gives you a lead as to where to go.
Keep us posted.
