I, for one, appreciate your follow up report. I'm pretty certain that
many of the readers on this list were concerned about your situation and
anxious to hear the outcome.
It seems to me, ( no claim on supreme wisdom here ) that you handled this
greatly. It is, at times, extremely trying when dealing with an abstract
conflict ( abstract because of the constructed position of the one
complainer claiming to represent the body at large ).
I feel you have not only served that particular player well, but also his
father, the other players and their parents--Oh, and this list, too.
You have not only resolved the psuedo-problems the situation raised, but
you have set a tone for handling real problems that may arise in the
future, and, perhaps most importantly, shown the youth ( taught by example )
that conflict can be peacefully and peacably resolved.
