Is it your understanding that at least a minimum of 5 years is required for
the Scoutmaster's Key, two for the Training Award and then three more for
the Key? Or could the time spent on the Training Award, if a Scoutmaster,
also be counted toward the Key?
I know there are some general rules that preclude working on two awards, or
having the same things count toward two awards, but in the case of the
Training and Key awards, it is not clear that tenure for both could not run
at the same time.
I have known some people that have run into problems, especially in Cub
Scouting, where their registration was at one position, but they were
actully doing some other job. One that I see pretty often, is where a person
is registered as Cub Master and is also doing Webelos Leader, they are
pretty disappointed sometimes when they learn that they can not receive the
Den Leader Knot.
