Ryan - as far as I am concerned there's no need to apologise. I'd FAR
rather see see something useful like your message - even if not directly
related to Scouting - than a lot of the " BSA discriminates against ... "
Your desires are fine, however I think that you've overstepped a bit
by characterizing this as garbage.
I, for one, find it quite important. I'm *very* happy to see my
daughter enjoying the Brownies and *very* concerned about my son
joining an organization that requires leaders to teach that many of
our friends and family members are somehow morally inferior.
I earned the Arrow of Light, the Eagle Scout award, was a member of
the Order of the Arrow, served as a Troop Committee Member *and* I
think that BSA practices prejudicial discrimination which hurts the
organization and hurts the youth! The fact that so many other
scouting organizations and other youth organizations around the world
can get past this bigotry only serves to strengthen my feelings that
BSA is dead wrong on these issues.
That said, I hope that we can move on without spending too much time
rehashing all of this . . . just please try to be a bit more
respectful of the views of others.
