My request for help for college students

I received an anonymous blind reply asking what my post had to do with
scouting. The post in question was a short message soliciting anyone who
has anything to do with intercollegiate athletics to contact me via
personal e-mail. My intent is to forward to such individuals a
questionnaire, the nature of which itself has nothing to do with scouting.
My original posting, which preceeded the one that brought the anonymous
reply, did not adequately specify/clarify the request, included the
statement the issue at hand was not directly related to scouting.
1- I identified the subject in, of course, the SUBJECT line so that those
who have absolutely no interest in colleges or helping others could simply
delete without reading.
2- At the beginning of the reqeust, I acknowledged to the list that the issue
does not directly relate to scouting so that those who so wished could
skip past it quickly.
3- I posted a short message to avoid inflicting painful costs upon those
who may have no interest in the issue.
4- I requested help from members of the list who may be able to provide it
because, last I saw, "A SCOUT IS HELPFUL"
If I offended anyone--anyone! by my first or second requests, I humbly
apologize. If this last, _last_ post on this subject offends anyone, I
apologize. I felt I had taken sufficient precautions to comply with
netiquette while making use of the facility.
