Sounds like you had a great Camporee. I'll have to keep this in my save
file so I can bring it up at the next Roundtable.
Some general observations....
This was in the Delaware Bay (and part of the BSA, I presume) area yet your
spelling, usage and terms indicate that you are British. What gave it away
was the spelling of "programme", you referenced 30km with miles in
parentheses, and you made mention of the British tradition of Scout's Own.
It would also take a very creative "Yank" to come up with the idea of a
If I guessed correctly, when did you move to the States and do you have any
observations to share on the similarities or differences in the Scouting
programs between the two countries? I was in the United Kingdom last
February, thoroughly enjoyed (want to go back again next year -- maybe
March) and even got to visit Gilwell.
