Cub vs Webelos Dues

When I was Committee Chair for Berkeley Pack 1, we set the annual dues at
$50 per year ($35 for additional boys from the same family). For a Wolf
Cub, our cost was about $49.80 and covered registration of the boy and his
parent, Boy's Life, insurance, insignia and neckerchief, and the book.
For a Bear, we needed only to buy him a new book and new neckerchief. Of
course, having been in a year, he was also more active in earning belt loops,
etc. But we probably made a little money on him. When he became a Webelos,
again we needed to buy a neckerchief and book, but only the first year. The
rest was used to finance the activity pins.
We held fundraisers (pancake breakfasts, Council-sponsored candy sales) to
raise the additional money we needed for program and badges, and we were quite
solvent. Pinewood derby expenses came out of fundraising, not out of
