Thanks for your prayers and comments...I've extracted them all and instead of
going to drill this weekend, I'm going to go to WPAFB to see her on Saturday
evening or Sunday morning....I'll let her read them too, since it's the first
time that she's realized that "my computer stuff" has real people on the other
Just wanted to let everyone know how's she's doing...after a nine and a half
hour operation Monday to remove several places on her stomach and estaphoge
(sp...I'll learn how to spell it right!), they've moved her stomach up three
inches. She's presently on a respirator, because she had difficulties last
night in breathing, so I couldn't talk with her this morning (and the reason
why I am leaving Greenwood this weekend for Dayton).
Of course, I do plan on mixing Scouting with the health concerns of my mom, and
will try to see if I can find some old Scouting uniforms in Kettering.
I plan on spending the entire day there on Sunday, and come back here Sunday
night (it's a four hour drive from here).
I had wanted to reach someone from the Dan Beard Council because Ron Hart
(whom was a reader and poster here last year) stated in a string about
uniforming and the Salvation Army/Goodwill that the Council office had lots of
uniforms for those that needed or wanted them. When I swung by the Service
Center on Monday, however, nobody seemed to know about it. Since Ron is on
the Council's Executive Board, he would probably know about it better than
anyone else, I would guess....can someone else from that Council point me
in the direction?
Thanks again for your prayers and comments privately sent as well as sent
through the list. It's great to know that even in times like this, that
we Scouters can be as kind as we would like our Scouts to be.
