Well I am Camporee Chairman of our District's Spring Camporee in 2 more
weeks. I am expecting 400 and frankly I think that's big enough. Much
larger than that and the organizational challenges can become overwhelming
and I am not sure that it's possible to deliver a quality program to the
boys if it's too big.
Of course you can choose to make it really big (like Mike L'Abbe's Maine
Jamboree), but that is staffed and run just like the National Jamboree
(Mike would say better...). It's nice to say that you've run such a huge
event but I think smaller events 400-600 is more than adequate for
delivering a quality program to the boys.
