Jessica, in a few weeks we are having our spring cookout and campfire
program. For the afternoon activity the Cubs will be playing marble golf
on a course the Boy Scouts will build (it is a joint troop/pack event).
For a craft we are making mini catapults which will be used as drivers in
a marble golf tournament immediately following the crafts session. For
the mini catapult I am adapting the flip stick craft project from the
How To book by eliminating the string and putting the bottle cap
at the top of the catapult to hold the marble for launching. We will have
to screw it together instead of gluing since they need to be ready to use
I don't know if this meets your definition of educational, but they are
learning about the sport of golf, and more importantly they are learning
that they can entertain themselves without TV or high tech toys.
