IndIanhead Council had it's annual Show & Do for adult training last weekend,
and there were 2 vendors displaying in the midway with new troop record-
keeping software. In light of the recent discussion I thought I would post
the information for what it's worth.
This is a database set up for ClarisWorks 2.0. Consists of a Scout Records
database, and a Camping Log database. Works on any Mac, requires 8mb RAM and
10Mb hard drive space. I know very little about Mac's but it looked nice.
The designer said it could be easily coverted to Filemaker Pro if there
is interest. He selected ClarisWorks because it is fairly common and
relatively inexpensive. Cost for the databases is $25. Contact:

ScoutTrax Troop Record Organizer
New program by a startup company. Designed using Foxpro database, if anyone
cares. Designers are professional database programmers, and this product is
extremely well thought out and designed. Easy to use, very complete record
keeping, including activities and calendar of events. Very good report
generation, with custom reports available for $10. They are adding the
ability for true user defined reports for the next upgrade. Operated under
DOS, requires 5 Mb hard drive space. Cost is $59.95, or $49.95 until March 12
Show & Do Discount. I was very impressed. I have been using Troopmaster
for 2 years, and this one is better. They are looking into data conversion
from TM, but nothing right now.

I have no interest, financial or otherwise, in either of these companies, and
is provided FYI.
