Based on my personal experience with the British Scouts of the Rhein
(part of the British Scouts in Western Europe), the majority if not
all of the British Troops are within the southwestern corner (from
roughly Basel up beside the French border to Karlsruhe and then upward
to Heidelberg) of Germany. I don't know of any British units operating
in Munich, a four-hour drive (at 140 km) between the two along A-8
(the Autobahn between the two cities).
It doesn't mean that there may not be.

First, Rick, the name and address that I gave you (for the
Transatlantic Council in Heidelburg) is current and correct. Vince
should be able to tell them all about Scouting, American and otherwise
there in the city. That's part of his job as Field Director.
There's another way, kinda indirect, but still effective. Have them
to write the BSA's International Division [(214) 580-2401 is their
direct number] and request information on a International Letter of
Introduction for Germany. They will send you back a form to fill out
and about four weeks after you return it to them, they will send a
International Letter of Introduction in both English and German to
you. They will also send information on ALL of the German Scouting
organizations, including points of contact in Munich and surrounding
areas. There is NO COST for this letter, and there are NO OTHER
SPECIAL "accommodations" or hospitality privileges other than those of
good Scouting friendship and brotherhood.
The address: International Division, S221
National Office, BSA
Post Office Box 152079
1325 West Walnut Hill Lane
Irving, TX 75038-2079
(that S221 will get it there just a tad faster....)
Hope the additional information is helpful!
