Remeber the first duty of OA service is the UNIT. I can't
say for the last couple Ordeals, but 70-100 seems like a
For the past 5 or so years, our spring Ordeal has been the
entire lodge at the one camp still open for summer, to set
up the camp. etc. Lots of work. In the fall the larger
chapter takes is down, and the smaller chapters so some
work at our other two camps to help keep them in top shape.
We have also started having an OA day at summer camp, and
holding BROTHERHOOD ceremonies during the week.
We also have had a FELLOWSHIP / conclave / fun weekend,
when we have had many Vigil ceremonies. In addition,
WE HAVE A WINTER DINNER/banquet and try to get a good program.
Past speakers have included Green Bar Bill, Sports celebrities,
Indian (Native American) histroical experts, and Black Powder
clubs and bucskin games type people. Another dinner
include CIVIL War re-enactors that had been in the movie
The brotherhood at summer camp has helped with out brotherhood
conversion rate, and may have helped get a few more brotherhood
members back to active status, and to an ordeal weekend on STAFF.
In the OLD days, all members at the ordeal weekend ate the same
limited food. Now staff eat like royalty, but seperate from
the ordeal candiates. Any comments on that issue?
