As I recall this thread began when the traffic on the list was slow!
I can't believe the amount of mail the last day or two ---
Our plan = 2 weeks of Summer Camp and a High Adventure Trip (Whitewater)
8 monthly two night campouts + two 2-night Camporees
All in tents except 2 or 3 times in cabins.
Junior Leaders (2 or 3 SPL types) spend a week at Junior Leader
Training Conference, and some a week at NOAC.
BTW, we have earned the National Camping Award each year we have
been chartered and Quality unit Status. We have grown from 10 scouts
in Jan 93 to 22 scouts in Feb 94. I guess a good program helps!!!!
Here is Troop 1's 93-94 program
June 93 - Niagara Falls, Camp Stonehaven, NY (DITA = Don Izard Travel Agency)
July 93 - Summer Camp, Manatoc Reservation (600+ acres of camping fun!)
August 93 - Kellys Island State Park, Lake Erie
September 93 - Camp Tuscazoar, Annual Program Planning Conference
October 93 - Council Camporee (we didn't place!)
November 93 - Camp Chickagami, woke up to several inches of white fluffy
"partly cloudly" - this was some scouts first "winter" campout!
December 93 - Scheduled campout cancelled due to an extreme number of conflicts
. In the words of the SPL, either we camp the first weekend or we don't camp.
January 94 - First Cabin Campout (and it was -13 degrees), Manatoc
February 94 - Winter Camporee and Klondyke Derby (WE PLACED FIRST!!!!!)
March 94 - Camp Firelands - a wonderful winter camp, think we will get any
snow? Tough to inner tube and ice skate w/o snow.
April 94 - Seven Ranges Camp
May 94 - Probably Pymatuning in Pennsylvania
June 94 - Beaver Creek Canoe Trip
July 94 - Summer Camp
August 94 - Whitewater Rafting - 3 days on the New River, WV
