Dear friends and fellow scouters.....
I have accepted the position of 1994 PowWow Program Chairman for Cascade
Pacific Council. So you know what this is, the hierarchy of our PowWow /
Potlatch program has an executive committee of 6, The PowWow Potlatch Event
Chairman and vice-Chairman, PowWow Program Chairman and vice-chairman, and
Potlatch Program Chairman and vice-chairman. This committee oversees the
entire PowWow/Potlatch program.
Under the section of PowWow program, I am responsible for the design and
implementation of the classes that relate specifically to the Cub Scout
program (eg. Committee/Program Support, Pack Pizzazz, Den Leaders, Webelos
Leaders, Cubmasters, Inner-City Scouting, Cub Scout Crafts, and Cub Scout
Extra). I am to recruit a steering committee which will head each of the
above listed sections. These heads will in turn recruit assistants and
As I leap (blind leap of faith) into this position, I do so with the
intention of putting together the highest quality PowWow program for the
leaders within Cascade Pacific Council, (we average between 1200-1500 in
attendees). As we are here on this group to share information and help each
other I would ask:
1) Are there any other Past or Current PowWow chairman participating, if so
would you please
let me know so that we can further communicate on specifics?
2) As an attendee of a PowWow, what classes did you find to be beneficial to
you and other
leaders? If you can be so kind as to elaborate on the course
description I would greatly
3) As an attendee of a PowWow, what classes did you find to be a waste of
your time? Why?
4) Big FAVOR -- If you have a copy of your PowWow's registration form,
course listing that
you would mail to me I would be forever in your debt. Please send to:

almost a full year of planning to pull everything together.
Thank you for responding and I look forward to receiving the forms from your
