I thought I might reply to the entire list on this one, just in case
others receive bounced email. There seem to be as many email software
packages as there are computer out there...and they all seem to handle
bounced mail differently. Normally, most packages bounce email back to
the sender (SCOUTS-L) which the listserv traps and send to me. There
seem to be a few rogue emailer that want to bounce email to the
"from" field---I have no control over these. If this happens to you,
just send me some PRIVATE email and I'll remove the offending id from
FYI... Just to let you know how I handle bounced email. The first step
I take is to set the digest option for that user. This keeps the
bounced mail to 1 per day per person. Then if the digest email bounces
for a couple of days, I remove the id from the list.
Anyway, I hope this helps explain some of how thing work.
