SEASONS GREETINGS TO ALL
Thanks for the info about silk screening. Our troop is going to order T's for
summer camp, and the idea of a contest sounds great.
Let me toss in a new wrinkle, several of our Patrols do not have the
traditional "critter" names and therefore do not have the proper patch. They
have names of various Pro sports teams (Sharks, Dolphins and Devils). By
selecting these names they can all wear the same hat, T-Shirt and even jacket.
It does lend itself to some sense of uniformity. I think it gives them a sense
of belonging as a patrol when none existed in previous years.
Switching gears! I used Don Izard's story about John Pierpont's life as a SM
Minute (which actually is several minutes :-)). I got to the point just before
where we start to reflect on wether or not Pierpont failed and one of the
Scouts said aloud "This guy was a looser!" I continued the story and the boys
all changed their minds. Thanks Don for a good story.
Happy Holidays to all!
