I recently checked into the cost of a $1 Million umbrella policy. It was less
than $200, IF my cars had $300,000/$500,000 liability insurance. My current
coverage is $200,000/$300,000. The cost to upgrade that was another $200.
Because I had my cars and homeowners insurance with different companies, I
wasn't even eligible for an umbrella policy until I changed companies.
I forget the details of the insurance policy we get through council, but as
I recall it is pretty wimpy.
I would be pretty angry if I was TOLD at a roundtable that I HAD to spend
$400 per year on insurance if I wanted to be a Scoutmaster.
