I agree wholeheartedly with you!
I belong to a Catholic scout association (in Italy we have two, one is
for catholic boys and girls, and the other is open to boys and girls
of all religions), but we never turn down any boy for such a
reason (after making it clear with the parents that we are a catholic
association, of course), exactly for the same reason. Of course, this
doesn't apply to leaders.
