Well!! Just got a little more information on the Central Region AKELA CALLS
AGAIN being planned for the campus of Western Ill. University the entire
weekend of June 3 and June 4, 1994. This is for C.S. district and council
level people, both program people, and trainers.
Some of us were at the AKELA CALLS in Albion, MI (1985, I think) which was the
1st such weekend Cub Scout region Akela thing.
There are currently being planned 21 courses that will be offered during the
weekend, and those attending will be expected to chose 4 and attend them. In
our council (just like last time) we will send enough people to at least cover
all of the courses. The cost for food and lodging for the weekend is $75,
which is the same amount we paid years ago. That is amazing!
If you are working in Cub Scouting, and in Central Region (or not) find out how
to get yourself to this weekend of training, updates (we will hear about the
very newest), food, campfire programs, special guests (the last one is where I
met "Green Bar Bill), fellowship, fellowship, fun, a gazoo band, and of course,
We will probably stay in the dorms as we have done in the past at these things,
and that means no one sleeps -- a gigantic slumber party! --- with food, new
courses, new friends, etc. etc.
Did I convince you yet? Hope so -- I will (God willing) be there and would love
to meet some of you.
