Guns and Scouts.

Hi there friends and neighbors.
I certainly to appreciate all the responses to my previous mail about the
Scout troop sponsoring a gun/knife sale/show. And I can see each and every
point y'all were saying.
Here's my point...
While the idea in gun safety is great for Scouts and I'm sure the safety
programs are well planned and organized I still don't feel very good about
the fact of a show selling and buying guns. I would love for my son to
have a great respect for gun safety and plan on teaching him myself but I
wouldn't want him to go out and buy one just because he had a safety class
in the use of them. I would however feel safer if he decided to have one
in the future.
Hopefully the scouts are getting the money from ticket sales and not from
the gun sales from the folks there.
Selling tickets is fine but but selling guns is not!!!
That is my main concern for the show. It could cause grave problems for
the troop and negative opinion if a gun could be traced back to one bought
or sold by the gun show sponsored by the scouts.
