This is going to be really short and quick, since I have to gas up the car,
get it ready to go across the state and pick up Jessiann's mom and my kids.
Someone mentioned that there wasn't religious emblems for Scouts and Cubs of
theBuddhist faith.....well, as Paul mentioned, there's one for the Scouts and
the Cub Scout one is called the "Metta" award. A picture of the award is foun
(oops...found) on page 15 of the current Insignia Guide.
There are now emblems and awards for Scouts from ALL of the nation's most
recognized faiths, and that adds to the BSA's committement that each person
seeks his or her Maker and strives to learn more about their role in that
aspect of life.
Once again, these are NOT BSA AWARDS...they are awarded by the faith or church
through the BSA (and those same awards may be earned by Girl Scouts, members
of the 4-H, YMCA/YWCAs, and other youth-serving organizations. The BSA allows
their wear on our uniforms as "insignia worn in harmony with national policies
