Subject: Not your everyday stuff
Two years ago, our Troop traveled to Fall River MA and did the Overnight
Camping on board the battleship USS Massachusetts.
Its a great trip, easy too, since they provide Sat. dinner, Sunday breakfast
and provide a boxed lunch to take with you on the trip home. You arrive at
noon on Saturday, get settled and turn them loose! Even 12 - 17 year olds
can't do too much damage to a Battleship! There is also a destroyer and a WWII
vintage sub moored adjacent to the ship. Included with the package is
admission to a nearby nautical museum run by old navy hands who have a GREAT
understanding of the kids and work real well with them.
The kids want to go again this spring ones for the first time as well as
"veterans". The cost as I recall was about $35/kid and adult (included
transportation, admission to the ship)
A good "lets do something different" trip.
BTW, since I'm new to this list (my first post) could someone let know if this
gets thru? Thanks
