We do a week long canoe trip each summer. Transportation, canoes,
and group equipment contributed/owned by the sponsor or parents.
The participants supply their own personal equipment.
We budget $5 per day to cover food and group supplies. ($35 for
the trip.) This presumes that there are no camping fees. We
operate on a break even basis. The $5/day/participant has been
a good "number" for us for the last 2 years. Leaders share in
the cost of the week long event. For all other events, leaders go
"free". We run a fund-raiser over the year which allows each member
to cover the cost of the trip if they have problems with the cost.
(Cheese from a local factory, at below store prices to our customers.
A good deal for everyone ! We still make 25% on the sale price.)
