I would have LOVED to have been there, John and Jim! That's a great way to
use that resource to (hopefully) make an impact upon the program!!
Unfortunately, the BSA's Council Services division says "no way" to that set of
(oops sorry) stats or any other set of stats that they use and share results
with local Councils. I've tried twice now, and I'd had a SE from a large
Council to try and we got the same answer each time.
It's not a matter of "releasing sensitive data", and I share with you two
concerns about the "numbers" (as a graduate student, I've become aware that
one can skew numbers to illustrate any point of view). It's a matter of
releasing data concerning the exact numbers of local Councils all over the
nation and somehow attempting to "compare your numbers" to neighboring ones.
This USED to be done (I've got a set of the old Southeast Scout Reports that
had all kinds of numbers that could be used) but (and I'm not sure when they
stopped doing it) but they stopped it.
Thanks for sharing that Roundtable evening with us all, and keep up the great
