Since it "could" be considered abuse or hazing to turn a young CUB
upside down to PIN on his BOBCAT badge, WHY DON'T WE TURN THE
PARENTS Up-Side down? I think it could do some of them some good
to get dropped on thier heads!
AND concerning the 'tradition' of the upside down BOBCAT badge. . .
I have found a ceremony in a 1978 and 1980 POW WOW book that
has the BADGE presented and pinned on - UPSIDE DOWN. And I
believe that Moses, (MY CUB MASTER) also had my parents present
my OLD ROUND PIN, unside down, pending a GOOD DEED. The GOOD DEED
has been associated with BOB CAT presentation for a LONG time.
HOwever, I might add that I was NOT turned Up-side down, just my
PIN. The CUBS in our local pack have not even been inverted,
but the BADGE has been first pinned on inverted since at least
scouting and CUB scouting, since '57
