Let me add to what Kathie has said about Roundtable
Training. It is important -- and with the number of
councils you have participating, you should have
enough RT Commissioners and RT Staff members to do
a separate session justice. You also might interest
some unit commissioners in RT service.
The Roundtable Training manual is woefully out-of-
date. The most glaring ommission is the tri-level
instruction recommended for troop meetings and
(consequently) Roundtables themselves. If you use
the old manual, replace the old troop meeting outline
with a current version. Also, make a major point
about theme-based tri-level instruction. Using Boys'
Life themes is suggested because it coordinates with
articles in Boys' Life and Scouting magazines. Our
experience with the tri-level in both RT and troop
meetings has been very positive. Interest and
attendance have improved tremendously.
We've also emphasized the tri-level at the Philmont
Training Center Roundtable conference -- and have
received good reports from participants.
Kathie, could I also get a copy of your outline?
