Yes I have had the Fast Start Training and Den Leader Training. I will be
taking Webelos Outdoor Training in the Spring. I am trying to be diplomatic
about it and it really is difficult when she challenges everything.
Here's a case and point:
Our pack is having a Christmas fund raiser that is to be products made by the
boys to sell. Well when the year began (as usual with no planning)I asked if I
could do the gathering activity for the den (this has not been implemented by
her at all in the past, and the boys think it is recess and run and yell for
half an hour before settling down), she said great and so did the cubmaster. I
siad it would be the crafts and things for the Christmas fund raiser. Well it
got the ok right then. So I planned it and sent home schedules of what we were
doing and what the boys needed to bring to each den meeting to meet the
requirements (4 things per cub). This was met with great enthusiasm(?) by the
parents who up until this point had no idea what the boys do in a den meeting.
When it came time to do the first item (2 weeks later) suddenely the other den
leader said she didn't like it and her son didn't bother to bring in the
supplies. Ofcourse, I stated that she had approved it and the plan. I also
asked her if she had bothered to read it. To this she stated no she hadn't.
Now because I have a plan for my pin and have handed it out she is saying that
I am taking over. The pin I have is the Craftsman Pin which will take time and
patience as well as supplies every week.
What would you suggest??
Last nights pack meeting was a disaster, she handed out the pins to my boys
with what seemed like thescubmasters approval. I am seriously considering
calling the cubmaster tonight. Last night I was too busy and angry to state my
case. He is going to have to see me as a den leader and wake up!! I can't
believe that no one has challenged this woman. Apparently she does the same
thing at school and no one says anything -- half planning is what they refer
to her as doing. What is that??
