If the dens are meeting together (in the same room) they are effectively the
same den. I suggest you try to find an alternate meeting place (remember the
YPP requirement of two adults).
I have always found that multiple dens meeting in the same location at the
same time are less effective than following the "normal" practice of separate
den meetings. Dens are intentionally defined as about 8 boys because that
is an optimal size for operation. I suggest you try for that. My guess is
that before long, some of the boys in the other den will be wanting to change
This seems like a rather simple solution, but I do think it would work.
BTW, as a Cubmaster I put a firm limit of 9 boys on a den. When a 10th boy
joined, we split the den into two dens of 5 boys each. Our wolf dens
occasionally got together for a big activity as did bear and webelos dens.
However, regular meetings were always held separately.
